History

History

In 1964 Margrit and Rudolf Schweizer founded the one-man business Schweizer Electronic in Zofingen. They thus laid the foundation for a successful company history.

1968 Development and application of the first automatic warning systems for securing construction sites in railway traffic.

1988 Peter Schweizer takes over the company in the 2nd generation.

1990 Introduction of the fully electronic warning system Minimel 90.

1995 Commissioning of the first level crossing control system eBUe2000.

1997 Market launch of the automatic warning system Minimel 95.

2001 Move to the new company building at Industriestrasse 3 in Reiden.

2002 Establishment of the subsidiaries in Europe.

2010 until today. Market launch and sales of the Minimel Lynx radio warning system, the Flex level crossing technology and the LocControl 100 radio remote control.

The good name of the company and its proven systems for the automated protection of people and goods on busy railways have given Schweizer Electronic a leading position in the market. The innovative solutions from Schweizer Electronic secure railway construction sites and level crossings. Their efficient locomotive control systems facilitate the work of shunting personnel. Schweizer Electronic products have been guaranteeing quality and safety for over 55 years.

Schweizer Electronic is still a family business. Today, the headquarters with development, production and sales is located in Reiden. The Schweizer Electronic Group employs around 210 people. It has its own locations in Switzerland, Germany, England, Italy, Austria and Spain as well as sales partners in Scandinavia, Australia, New Zealand, Brazil, Chile, Poland, France, Portugal and Morocco.
